Thrift/Garage/Yard Sale Frenzy

Two weekends of searching for things for school and this is what I came up with. I have more higher quality books...Any suggestions for anything I might need? Also, is there a resource that can rank books at reading levels for me so I don't have to read everything?

  2. Go to this site src.scholastic.com/ to find out the reading level of most books. It will also tell you lexile, genre, interest level and give you a brief synopsis along with skills you can teach and even a word count. Just put the title or author into the search box to get the info.
Be sure to click on the tabs at the top of the site. Scholastic has some great resources. You should also join their book clubs so that you can get free books for your classroom. I have over a thousand books in my classroom library and many I received free with points from scholastic. Just be sure to cover paperbacks with contact paper. I have some paperbacks that I use in literature circles to this day that are 19 years old and still in good shape because I covered them in contact. Check it out.
